For two years we owned and operated a coffeehouse located in the Parkridge Mall. Sweet Indulgence Coffee House and Eatery flourished serving sandwiches, soups and decadent desserts, but that didn't quite fulfill our dream.
We wanted a place where local musicians would come and play jazz, the blues and rock & roll. We wanted a place where local artists would hang their art on the walls and where fresh homemade Americana food would tempt people to come back over and over.
After months of searching, planning and negotiating, The River Walk Cafe` became a reality. The kitchen was built, the dining room was furnished and the bar was stocked with coffee. The beer was chilled and the wine corks were popped. Jazz bands played, rock and blues bands were rocking the dock and art was adorning the walls.
Still something was missing, there was a stone left unturned. We were back to the drawing board. After many meetings with the owner of the Harvester, a new idea was ready to become a reality. Banquet rooms where people could meet and party, weddings could confirm a couples relationship and business people could leave the work place for a secluded meeting. The River Walk - Restaurant and Banquet Facilities had completed the circle.
